Ian Mathieson - Chairman


Ian is a seasoned executive with more than 35 years of successful business experience across a broad range of industries and activities. Ian’s considerable experience include resources, property, development, forestry, project financing, project feasibility, strategic and tactical implementation, negotiating environmental and indigenous matters, and transitioning projects and developments from conception through to completion and profitability. Notably, Ian was the Director, financier and co-owner of South Australia Mining Resources; a company that owned the the Kanmantoo open-cut copper mine before selling the project to Hillgrove Resources.

Ian is the chair of the AMD remuneration and nomination committee.

Mark Fisher - Non-Executive Director


Mark is a highly accomplished resources executive with over 35 years of hands-on operational and corporate experience in mining all around the world. His skills and experience include strategic business planning and risk mitigation, business and project management, developing mine engineering and production requirements, mine management and liaison with diverse cultures in indigenous and remote communities.

Mark has had extensive global leadership and operational experience in his career to date, including senior positions with Placer Dome and Barrick Gold Corporation over a period of decades. Mark’s combination of skills and depth of experience has consistently produced profitable and sustainable outcomes in complex settings delivering increased shareholder value.

Mark has held the positions of Operations Director Australia, GM of Kanowna Belle in Kalgoorlie, Mine Manager for the Porgera Gold Mine (PNG), Chief Mining Engineer and Mine Manager for the Misima Gold and Silver Mine (PNG), Executive General Manager for Barrick Papua New Guinea and Operations Director for both Barrick Asia Pacific and Barrick South America.

Most recently, Mark was President of the Global Copper division for Barrick Gold Corporation executing the development strategy over its portfolio of key copper assets in South America, Africa, Middle East and Asia.

Mark is the chair of the AMD technical committee.

Greg Anderson - OBE Non-Executive Director


B.Sc (Geology)

Greg joined the Bureau of Mineral Resources in Canberra and was seconded to work with the Geological Survey ofPapua New Guinea in 1975. Greg held a number of positions in the PNG Geological Survey from 1975-85 and during this period he conducted and supervised a wide range of engineering and geological hazards studies throughout PNG. He was appointed Director of the Survey in 1986 and remained in this position until 1989. Throughout those years he was responsible for the overall management of mining and petroleum exploration in PNG during a period of intense activity.

In 1989 Greg was appointed to the position of Executive Director of the newly established PNG Chamber of Mines and Petroleum, which is an industry association that represents the interests of the mining and petroleum sectors in PNG.

Since 1989 and up until his retirement from the Executive Director position in June 2017, Greg was responsible for developing the Chamber into a peak industry body that has a major input into legislation and policy changes and has underpinned the development of PNG’s world-class resource industry. Today the Chamber boasts a membership that includes some of the largest and well-known mining and petroleum companies in the world.

Greg was instrumental in fostering investment and growth in the PNG mining and petroleum sectors through Chamber-organised international and domestic investment conferences, and the commissioning of a wide range of studies and reports that have benefited many projects and industry stakeholders. He also played a pivotal role in advancing developments in the areas of taxation, education and training, health and community development.

Greg was awarded an OBE in 2019 for his significant contribution to establishing and growing the resources industry in Papua New Guinea.

Craig Lennon – CA, AGIA Non-Executive Director


GDip (Applied Corporate Governance)(Applied Finance)

Craig was previously the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ASX Listed Highlands Pacific Limited from 2016 to 2019 and prior to that Chief Financial Officer at Highlands for 9 years and with the company for 19 years in total. Highlands was taken over by Cobalt 27 Capital Corp in May 2019. Highlands was an exploration and development company with assets focused in Papua New Guinea that included the world class Ramu Nickel Cobalt mine. Craig has vast experience working in Papua New Guinea, working with Chinese partners and corporation transaction including joint ventures, mergers & acquisitions, capital raisings and debt funding.

Preceding Highlands, Craig had worked for KMPG for five years in Australia gaining experience in industries including manufacturing, construction, retail, hospitality and mining. He also worked in the United Kingdom for two years in the manufacturing industry.

Craig is a Chartered Accountant, has a Graduate Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance with the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance with FINSIA and is a member of the Australian Institute of Directors. Craig is also currently the Head of Asia Pacific for Conic Metals Corp a leading battery metals investment vehicle listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and an advisor to Pure Battery Technologies a privately owned Brisbane based nickel and cobalt refiner looking to commercially produce a premium grade nickel sulphate product.

Craig is the chair of the AMD audit and risk committee.

Genesio Circosta - Non-Executive Director


Genesio is a highly experienced exploration geologist and manager with over 40 years of experience leading gold discoveries in China, SE Asia and Northern Queensland. His experience includes more than 17 years with Placer Dome managing near-mine exploration programs on projects such as Kidston Gold Mine and the Misima mine in PNG, and managing exploration for gold, copper, zinc, lead and mineral sands. Genesio was until recently the Exploration Manager for the Pajingo gold mine (Minjar Gold) and maintains a consulting role with Minjar Gold. Genesio was previously the Principal Geologist for Evolution Mining Limited.

Juli Hugenholtz - Incoming CEO


Juli is a geologist with over 25 years’ experience in exploration for gold and base metals throughout Australia and New Zealand, with a primary focus on Queensland.

Juli was instrumental in the listing of ActivEX Limited in 2006 and served as Exploration Manager until 2017, responsible for all aspects of exploration from greenfields through to resource definition, tenement compliance and management and she was directly involved in the delineation of JORC resources on three ActivEX projects.

Juli has technical experience in a variety of corporate settings from junior to mid-tier explorers, consulting and contracting roles, tenure management, stakeholder liaison and exploration and project management including JORC reporting. She has corporate experience with company start-ups and IPOs through to secondary capital raising, joint venture negotiation, government grants and tax rebates.

Glenn Twomey - Geology Consultant


Glenn is a very experienced Exploration Geologist with versatile management skills and more than 33 years of success working in the exploration industry covering Papua New Guinea, Australia, New Zealand, Tanzania, Burkina Faso, Mali, Guinea and China. Glenn spent 17 years in senior roles within Barrick Gold as Exploration Manager and Principal Geologist for PNG, Exploration Manager for Africa, Exploration Manager for Asia and Exploration Manager for Project Development.

In addition, Glenn has held roles in a variety of well‐known companies including Placer Pacific at the Kidston Gold Mine in Queensland. Glenn’s PNG‐based successes include the definition of the multimillion‐ounce expansion of the Porgera resource and the discovery of the 1Moz geological inventory at Kora within the Kainantu project. Glenn brings hands‐on experience for all aspects of exploration. He has managed teams in excess of 250 people and budgets in excess of $30M per annum.
