The Cumberland Project comprises of four contiguous EPMs in a heavily mineralised gold-silver province in the Georgetown district of North Queensland, located to the north-west of the 3.5 million oz Kidston Gold Mine.
Work carried out by AMD’s JV partners has identified a 3-kilometre zone of bonanza grade silver mineralisation with associated gold in epithermal quartz vein mineralisation. To date, 16 individual veins with high-grade gold values at the surface have been discovered. The most promising, “RBZ” (previously “Rob’s Vein”), is interpreted as a series of hydrothermal breccia zones in excess of 600 metres long with surface sampling averaging 2.1g/t Au and 379g/t Ag.
LiDAR topographic survey has been completed, and in 2019 further field mapping and soil sampling programs in specific areas has been undertaken.
AMD expects commencement of drilling and soil geochemical surveys in 2020.
